The internal wall frames are being installed and the ground floor walls will be boarded this week.
The ducting is being installed on the ground floor.
All the windows are in place on the ground floor and the first floor windows were being completed when I visited the site on Friday.
The back wall rain cladding is almost complete and the Library roof is being erected.
The cladding to the Marymount side of the building is near completion, the ground floor windows are being installed and the plant room is being prepared for the new under floor heating system.
The roof windows are now in place and the Library roof is due to be put on this week.
Whilst the rain is preventing the roof being completed, the windows and doors are being installed.
I ventured into the new building on Friday, in between the showers, wearing my hard hat, high viz waistcoat and steel cap wellies!
The sunny day today (Monday) will certainly help and hopefully the builders will be able to lift the very heavy roof lights into place to enable the roof to be completed.
We are pleased to report that the building project is making progress as you can see. However, we are concerned that the progress is not as fast as expected and we have sought assurance from the building contractor that they will complete the project in the forthcoming summer holidays as agreed.
We have recently sought an assurance and will keep you informed about the situation.
